The Britanni – A definition.

Britanni… n. [L. Britanni, Gr. Britannic] One of an ancient clan of sea-witches, or the clan itself, that formerly inhabited all of the Western shores of Europe and whose present day descendants can now only be found in Western Ireland, South-West Wales, the Welsh Marches, Cornwall, Brittany and the Basque Country (in particular San Sebastian and Biarritz). Noted for their skill as navigators and pilots, their resolutely matriarchal society, their former close association with the French privateers of St.Malo and their current association with the British Royal Navy at Devonport.
